This past Sunday I finished teaching through chapters 26-30 of the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith in our Adult Sunday School class. These chapters cover ecclesiology – the doctrine of the church – including inter-church relations and the means of grace, with particular focus on the sacraments. The classes are brief and relatively shallow (and also taught by a 24 year old), so I will be posting edited and expanded notes for each class over the next few weeks, which will also have corrections, clarifications, as well as a greater degree of coherence and intelligibility.
I would love to hear any feedback you have.
You can see all of our classes on the Confession here.
(Note: I made an error in this lecture about the definition of the visible church, where I said it referred to those who are alive today. Rather, the visible church refers to the institution of God’s people as she has existed throughout history)
